Unidentified Past Monsters Mathew has Battled!

We heard reports from several children that a strange "burnt lady" was detaching herself from the shadows in their bedrooms and crawling into their beds. Once there, she would hover above them and "drink" their breath until they felt as if they would surely smother. We staked out the room of one afflicted child and attempted to pursue her, but she simply melted back into the shadows. I astrally projected Mathew and myself down the psionic energy trail she left behind. We materialized in a forested area and followed traces of her magical energy to a cavern in the hillside. Upon entering her lair, she confronted us and blasted Mathew with some kind of plasma. I shielded him from the brunt of the attack and we rushed to do battle with the burnt lady. Mathew attempted to hack her to bits, but his blade met no resistance from her scorched and blackened flesh. The lady then tried to dive into one of Mathew's eyes, but he managed to avert his gaze on time. After that, we fled the cave and sealed it with several powerful warding charms.
