Smoke Man

In New Jersey, on the business of fighting evil, we encountered this being in the basement of our hotel. He was preceded by the intense smell of sulfur and then a choking cloud of smoke. Mathew's flaming sword appeared to have no effect on him as he simply melted away before the blade and then reformed. Whenever he touched Mathew, he drained away strength and hope. Before we could figure out how to defeat this strange being, Mathew ran away. We will attempt to slay this beast again tomorrow night, assuming Mathew can summon enough courage to leave our room.
