Unidentified Past Monsters Mathew has Battled!

While searching the forest for the PumMonster, we found the tracks of a large, pawed creature. Following them deeper into the woods, Mathew stumbled (literally) across this beast. It knocked him to the ground and slobbered copious amounts of spittle upon him, but left him otherwise uninjured. I am not certain this creature is evil, although it is certainly hideous. I am suspicious it may be some kind of guardian, ensorcelled into protecting a hidden artifact or cursed treasure. It made a barking sound that struck me as an attempt to emulate speech, although what it might have been trying to convey was beyond my ability to grasp. It vanished before we could subdue it.
